MONTHLY NEWS – JUNE 2024

COMERIO ERCOLE is continuously developing specific and reliable innovative Industry 4.0 solutions based on the most advanced IoT – Internet of Things – available technologies. The Digital Platform HERCULES40® provides all end-users with a data-driven analysis tool for continuous improvement of production processes, including energy consumption optimization, as well as added-value after-sales services. Thanks to advanced techniques in big data analysis and machine learning, the raw data from processes and instrumentation on COMERIO ERCOLE machines and plants are transformed into smart data, which become part of the strategic information available to Plant Operation & Maintenance Management through a simple and intuitive application. With the Digital Platform HERCULES40®, COMERIO ERCOLE enters the age of web-connected machines and remote high-level services. The only way forward is to apply a Lean 4.0 approach to make informed, data-driven decisions. In such a scenario, digital tools support continuous improvement by reducing waste. The HERCULES40® tool is developed based on artificial intelligence and anomaly detection algorithms, allowing it to anticipate machine downtime up to one month before it happens. Each station of the line is equipped with a dedicated algorithm capable of obtaining the health status of the component for each production cycle. If an abnormal situation occurs, the system supports the user in analyzing the causes by directly exploring the process variables.

COMERIO ERCOLE provides a service portfolio and customer assistance that ranges from spare parts to full refurbishment for the worldwide installed single machines (like mixing mills, internal mixers, calenders, and any ancillary units) and calendering and mixing lines. When changes are required to the design, function, or safety of machinery (or an assembly of machines like an industrial plant), the COMERIO ERCOLE refurbishment team properly assesses the extent of the changes to be made. If they are substantial (e.g., significant new hazards are introduced or new methods of control of the machine replace those previously provided, such as computer control of a previously manual machine), it may be considered a “new” machine. In such cases, conformity assessment must be performed, and all relevant requirements of any applicable product supply legislation must be met. The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations apply when the modified machinery is considered “new” to the market. What is the end result of a COMERIO ERCOLE REPOWER® activity plan?

1. New functionalities not present in the original machine;
2. Cost reduction compared to the purchase of a new machine with the same features;
3. Avoidance of obsolescence issues;
4. Increased durability of the machine;
5. Refurbishment with only original parts;
6. New safety devices and software;
7. New warranty and potential new certification.
COMERIO ERCOLE supports any customer request according to a qualified and proven concept called REPOWER®, based on the 3R concept: Renovate – Revise – Refurbish.

IN SHORT: The month of June saw a lot of activity across our entire production system with many plants undergoing testing, trials, and shipment. Overall, well over 300 crates were shipped to various destinations, from the Far East to North America. Technology and skilled expertise 100% Made in Italy at the service of our customers. Following the trade shows in America, with significant events such as ITEC and NPE, we have a new appointment in Germany at the DKT in Nuremberg from July 1st to 4th. Our staff will be waiting for you at stand 8-519, where you can also experience an AI simulation with our innovative product HERCULES40®.
